from 2000 to 2002 the bitfilm festival was integrated into the international shortfilm festival hamburg. bitfilm also organised the flash award from 2000 to 2002, first as a part of berlinbeta, then at filmfest hamburg. in 2003 both events were merged and established as a stand-alone festival.
